Lake Taupo is almost twice the size of the next biggest lake in NZ, Te Anau.Well known for its rainbow trout fishing. Basically a crater lake which was formed by a massive volcanic explosion, which may have impacted the atmosphere globally.<LAKETAUPO.JPG"><TAUPOSUNSET.JPG">Taupo township is a tourist centre and market town.
